At 56 Jennifer Aniston Credits This 30 Minute Workout for Preserving Strength and Muscle Tone

For Hollywood legend Jennifer Aniston, fitness once revolved around 45-minute sessions of high-intensity cardio such as running and boxing. After years of demanding, high-impact workouts, her body began signaling the need for a gentler yet equally effective approach. That transition led her to Pvolve, a low-impact training method centered on functional strength.

Focusing on Strength and Longevity at 56

Now 56 years old, and working closely with her longtime trainer Dani Coleman, Jennifer emphasizes strength, stability, and long-term health rather than chasing intensity for its own sake.

Why Strength Training Matters More With Age

Muscle supports our skeleton,” Jennifer explains. “As we age and naturally lose muscle mass, our bones can become weaker and more vulnerable to conditions like osteoporosis. One of the biggest risks later in life is falling and breaking a bone due to insufficient muscle support. That’s something we want to avoid.”

Jennifer Aniston’s Healthy Habit Q&A

What’s the first thing you do in the morning?

After letting my dogs, Clyde and Chesterfield, outside to run around, I prepare 16 ounces of water mixed with colostrum, hair-growth peptides, and the juice of a whole lemon. I drink it 30 to 45 minutes before having coffee or breakfast.

Who inspired you early in life?

My grandmother. I loved sitting with her in the kitchen while she made spanakopita, cookies, and Greek pastries. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always surrounded me with so much love.

What simple moment brings you the most joy?

Nothing compares to curling up on the couch with my dogs, getting comfortable, and watching a great show together.

Your must-have habit for physical longevity?

Maintaining healthy muscle mass is essential. I do Pvolve workouts with my trainer Dani about three to five times a week, and I occasionally add a Pilates class to keep things fresh.

How do you support your mental well-being?

I try to meditate daily. Some days I can’t manage a full 20 minutes, but even 10 minutes—or a brief pause—to breathe, reset, and calm my mind makes a difference.

When did you last feel truly accomplished?

I feel that way after completing a project that required real effort and meaning. Most recently, that sense of accomplishment came after wrapping season four of The Morning Show.
